Growing up in a family rich in music proves to be a fertile field and advantage
that any artist destined for musical success would wish for. Rick Sharp was born in Emmett, Idaho to such a family
full of musical talent. With the help of his dad at the age of 3, Rick was begining his recording career on the
family's old reel to reel recorder and according to Rick, it began an experience he truly enjoys and will always
remember. When Rick was 10 years old, his family moved to Northwest Olkahoma, where he lived and performed.
With the guidance of his father Ted, also an accomplished musician, by the age of 11 years old Rick was an accomplished
guitar player and just kept getting better and better. His guitar savvy became a feature with his dad's band, "
Ted Sharp and the String Busters " And after paying his dues with them Rick took his music to the road.
There on the road he began playing and singing to a following throughout Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. Rick Sharp's
name and accomplishments were growing and as fate would have it, he developed the style and heart that his fans
have grown to love today.
Rick landed several dates at the legendary " Reo Palm Isle " in Longview, Texas and this proved to be
a golden opportunity for exposure as he has opened shows for Mel Tillis, Keith Whitley, Eddie Raven, Joel Sonnier,
Willie Nelson, just to mention a few. Rick's guitar and rich Baritone vocals were now in demand and he captured
other opening dates for Ricky Van Shelton, Johnny Rodriguez, David Frizzell, Tony Douglas, Freddie Fender and Rodney
Crowell and even more...he began to shine like the star he truely is.
Rick enjoys fishing, driving and working on hot rods. Most of all he loves his family and recently stated, "
my real drive for my music is my family" No matter what Rick has done in his life, it seems his strong roots
in music have always led to his passions to a life devoted to country music.
